On May 18, Evan Rogister makes an exciting Zürich debut, leading the Philharmonia Zürich in a concert of music by Richard Wagner, W.A. Mozart, and Edward Elgar.

Opening the concert is Wagner’s luminous prelude to his opera Parsifal, followed by Mozart’s elegant and expressive Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola in E-flat major, K. 364, which will feature violinist Viktoria Mullova and violist Nils Mönkemeyer. Rogister has been widely acclaimed for his Mozart, with New York Classical Review recently praising the “energetic, colorful, and generally crisp performance” of Die Zauberflöte at The Metropolitan Opera. The concert concludes with one of the Romantic era’s most beloved pieces, Elgar’s rich and characterful Enigma Variations.
